Join us for an all-chapter meeting on the new Labor Laws. Are Your Exempt Employees Really Exempt? What the New DOL Overtime Rules Mean for You.

Presenter: Michael Hughes, Partner in SmithAmundsen LLC’s Labor & Employment practice group

The US Dept. of Labor issued new rules for determining whether employees are considered “exempt” from overtime and certain record keeping obligations. The new rules go into effect on December 1, 2016. The time to act is now to ensure that your employees continue to qualify as exempt.

The presentation will cover:

· The “nuts-and-bolts” of the new rule;

· Descriptions of the Executive, Administrative and Professional Exemptions;

· New rules for Highly Compensated Employees; and

· Other common exemptions in the Automotive Service industry
