PicoScope Training Series
Become a Pico “Power User” through this 4-Part Series
ASA Illinois is proud to have the charismatic, hands-on instructor Ken Zanders leading this four-part training series, beginning on September 29, 2018.
Ken will guide you through an extensive, 32-hour detailed approach to the PicoScope with formal mentoring between classes and goal setting techniques for driveability diagnosis. The overall goal of this program is that the student become a confident “power user” of the Pico equipment and its accessories. This program will provide detailed information on the PicoScope tool and proper use and care.
These sessions will be truly HANDS-ON, with all participants performing significant hands-on activity. Ken will include a “Show Me” element for all tasks, i.e., Ken will ensure everyone is hands-on and can demonstrate they can put into practice what they’ve learned.
Assignments will be provided for you to complete after you return to your shop. Ken will provide formal mentoring between classes, as needed, to ensure each level of competency before you move to the next level and course.
PicoScope Training I: Saturday, September 29, 2018 at College of DuPage
The first course of this 4-part training series will provide an introduction to PicoScopes from a detailed approach to get the student started with goal setting techniques for driveability diagnosis. This training will provide a pictorial view as to whether or not electrical components are working properly. The student will leave with a very good understanding of “where do I start” techniques.
This session will cover:
- The Waveform Library Browser
- The Automotive Waveform Exchange
- Guided Tests (Oxygen Sensors, Cam and Crank Sensors, CAN High and Low Signals)
- Pico-Diagnostics (Software)
- Battery Testing
- Compression Testing
- Cylinder Balance
Basic Engine Mechanical
- Relative Compression Testing (Pico Scope)
- Proper Synch Probe Usage (Channel A)
- High Amperage Current Probe (Channel B)
- Cranking Voltage (Channel C)
